Frequently Asked Questions

How Our Loans Work

What do I need to apply for a loan?
How much will my loan cost?

Your total cost depends upon the size of the loan for which you qualify and your payment history. As an example, the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for a loan of $500 is 328.11%, with 16 bi-weekly payments of $74.18. See our Loan Cost & Terms and Consumer Cost pages for more details.

How much may I borrow?

If this is your first Great Plains loan, you may qualify for $100 to $1,000*. See Loan Cost & Terms for details.

Who is my lender?

Great Plains Lending, LLC is a tribal lending entity wholly owned by the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Indians, a sovereign nation located within the United States of America, and is operating within the boundaries of the Otoe-Missouria Reservation.

How soon will I get my money?

If your application is approved and verified by 6 p.m. ET, your money can be electronically deposited into your checking account as soon as the next business day. You can also request that we send your loan proceeds via the United States Postal Service in the form of a check; however, please allow approximately 7-10 days for delivery.

Payment Options

What happens if I don't make a payment on my loan by the due date?

You are responsible for making your loan payments on time by the due date. For your convenience, we provide several ways to pay. You can either schedule an electronic payment from your checking account or provide payment in one of the following forms (debit card, check or money order). Please note that if you make a late payment, skip a payment, or a payment is returned to us, we may charge you additional fees.

If you are unable to make the payment on your due date, please contact Customer Support.

What are my payment options?

As opposed to traditional banks, at Great Plains Lending, we give you the choice to pay off your loan over several installments, or all at one time (without penalties, of course).

Keep in mind that the number of payments on your loan depends on your loan amount and pay schedule. For your convenience, your loan payment dates are linked to your pay dates. For example, a $500 loan with an Annual Percentage Rate (APR) of 328.11% has 16 bi-weekly payments of $74.18.

What is "my payment methods"?
My Payment Methods is a new feature of Great Plains. It is a place for you to review your current payment methods, add debit cards, and update your debit card information. Storing your debit card in My Payment Methods allows you to easily access your cards in the future to make payments.

How do I know when my application is approved? won't have to wait long. When you submit your online application your results will be available in a matter of seconds. If conditionally approved, subject to verification of the application information, you will be able to request how much you want to borrow up to your maximum approved amount. If your application for credit is not approved, we'll notify you with the reason for denial.

How does Great Plains Lending protect my personal information?

We understand that you may have some reservations about providing us with your personal information while applying for an online loan. Accordingly, we've taken numerous measures to keep our process completely confidential and secure. Please see our Security Policy for more information.
